Little anchor

I'm not really into tattoos, but some people wear them so well and look so cool. If I ever was to get one it would be something like this:

So simple and yet so perfect. I found this image on Flickr.

Älskade Modette

One of my favourite communities is Modette. It is a Swedish fashion community, that originally started out as a magazine, but now it's only available online. When ever I need inspiration I look at the lovely style diaries. Here are some of my favourites:

Fashionistadk ------------------------- Lillgull

Majpaj --------------
--------------------- Prick

By looking at this website I can once again say that to me Swedes are the most fashionable people on earth.

Will I ever see you, José?

José González played at the Way Out West festival this summer, but Eva and I missed it, because we took the wrong spårvagn (tram). So stupid! We ended up walking around Västra Frölunda and getting lost.
So I was very excited when I heard that he was gonna play at the national gallery in Copenhagen tonight. Dorthe and I went there to see him, but so did hundreds of other people. We got there more than two hours before the concert but couldn't get in. After freezing and standing in a crowd for more than an hour and not moving any closer to the entrance, we decided to find a café and have some hot chocolate and tea instead. So disappointed.

Första snön är alltid vitast

This is what Vesterbro looked like last night, when we came back out on the street after the concert...

It is the first snow we've had this winter, and it made me think of the song by Tomas Andersson Wij called "Första snön är alltid vitast". (Translation: The first snow is always the whitest)

Finaste Bo Kasper

Last night Eva and I went to see Bo Kaspers Orkester. I love their sweet Swedish music, and ever since we saw them live at Tivoli last summer I've been longing to go to another show.
They we're wonderful last night. I haven't had a chance to hear much of their new album - only a few songs, such as "Tack för konserten (din jävel)" which is a dedication to Håkan. Bo wrote the song in just 20 minutes after seeing Håkan in concert.
After the show last night the band came out to sign albums, so I bought the new one and now it looks like this:

I was wearing one of my many Håkan shirts, and when Bo noticed he yelled out "Mitt idol!". So we started talking about Håkan. Bo said he loved the shirt and looked at it so much that he had to point out "Jag tittar inte på dina bröster." Haha, I could not stop laughing. (Translation: I'm not looking at your boobies!)

Remember what I said about boys and hats? I love it.

People on the train

When you take the train to work or school every day, you get to a point where you start recognizing people on your way. I've been taking the train every morning and afternoon for quite a while now, and I recoqnize some people again and again... The business man always wearing his J. Lindeberg belt and leather jacket. The three African guys, who always seem to be overly excited about something - but that's just my guess, I don't understand a word of their conversation. Sometimes I run into Emilie. And then there are the kids playing Nintendo and of course the fashionable (and very cute) guy, who might be coming straight from Gbg every day. He looks so Swedish.
But the one person that makes me wonder the most is this young skinny guy I see on my way home sometimes. He is always carrying a flower bouquet. I wonder who it's for. Sometimes it's roses, and sometimes it's other flowers that I don't know the name of. Strange, but very sweet. Who do you think the flowers are for?

Friday night

Friday night was great. We went out and had a fabulous time. It's not easy to describe, but let me give you some hints:

Charlie charlie, what are you doing to me?

I've been a very lazy blogger lately, but I'm back now. So much has happened this week, and I've been to busy to write about any of it. I'll try to make up for it now.

The always kind Jesse has given me and Aprilgatan an award:

I'm flattered and thankful. And a bit surprised... I think there are so many blogs that are way more interesting than mine - but I'm glad you like it. I will pass on the award to the blog I love the most: Fifikoussout. For you, Alice. Simply because I love your way of thinking, your drawings, your pictures and your humour.

Song of the day: A Camp - Charlie Charlie

I met a boy called charlie charlie
On the fourth of september last year
He was twenty-one, and once a teenage star
So sweet in the way he appeared, in the way he appeared

Charlie charlie
He was a trip into the wild and the free
Got high on drinks and being rock’n’roll dreams
We shared the days and nights ‘til one morning he showed me

I fell in love with charlie charlie
It felt like the right thing to do
With his careless charm and his jaded eyes
I know you would have fallen too, you would have fallen too

Charlie charlie
He was a trip into the wild and the free
Got high on drinks and being rock’n’roll dreams
We shared the days and nights ‘til one morning he showed me

Charlie charlie
Went for an errand at the end of the street
He stole my heart, but if you happen to meet
You tell him I don’t want the money that he owes me

I just want to know what went through him
‘Cause I could never know
Even though I thought I knew him
Charlie charlie, what are you doing to me?

Charlie charlie
He’s got my credit card and hasn’t been seen
He stole my heart, but if you happen to meet
You tell him I don’t want the money - no, I just want him

Brideshead Revisited

Eva and I went to the cinema last night to see Brideshead Revisited, and I found it absolutely enchanting! Every little detail made me want to dress up, drink champagne and talk with a British accent. I loved the actors. The colours. The outfits. Especially Sebastian's scarf. I loved their parties. The scenery. The peaches. The kisses. The sculptures. The teddybear. The way they talked. The way they smoked their cigarettes. The jewellery. The cars. The hats. And everything else.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, please do so.

Yesterday was J-day in Denmark. It's a very special day to young people. Almost like a national holiday. It's the day they start selling the Tuborg Christmas Beer!
We had a party at the school, and it was great fun. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to show, but everyone was wearing silly christmas hats and stickers.

7 random things about me

I have been tagged by Alice, so now I have to tell you 7 random things about myself.

1. I sailors.
Sailors are cute, handsome, adventurous and lovely. Give me stripes in red, white and blue. Give me buttons and cute little hats. And don't forget anchors!
Nautical fashion is what I love and can't stop buying. I simply love sailors.

2. I play and coach basketball.
Most people are surprised when I tell them. I guess it's because I'm only 165 cm tall. But I've played basketball since I was about 9 or 10 years old, and for the past four years I've coached a team of teenage boys.

3. I've taught myself to speak Swedish.
And write as well. Of course it's not perfect, but I have fooled a lot of people to think I'm actually Swedish. I guess I thought the language was beautiful, and I listen to a lot of Swedish music, so it just sort of came to me somehow...

4. I'm starting to freak out.
...about my future. I'm graduating at the end of January, and I don't know what I'm gonna do from that day on. I'm gonna apply to a couple of school that I really want to attend, but it seems hopeless. It seems like only yesterday was the first day of school, and now we're graduating. I will miss my school so much. Not because of the teachers or the classes, but because of my friends. It's so weird to think about how we won't see each other so often anymore. I will miss our many, many laughs, our girly g
ossips, our Friday bar, our parties... And so many other things. Oh sadness!

5. I buy a lot of magazines.
Mostly when I go to Sweden, because they are cheaper there.

6. Someone recently told me that I look a lot like Chloe Sevigny.
At first I found it a bit odd, and I wasn't flattered. I think she wears some really weird outfits sometimes and doesn't look too pretty. But then I googled her and realized, that she can actually be really beautiful and cool. I don't mind looking like her, if I look like this...

7. I go to concerts all the time.
Music means so much to me. I love live music - especially when I can enjoy it with friends and my sweet sister Eva. We go to concerts all over Copenhagen and Sweden.

I'm gonna tag: Jesse, Charmerande and Mirthe

She's A Rainbow

I've been doing too many black/white posts lately. Let's add some colour!

Yet another party

This Friday we once again went to our favourite bar, and when they closed and threw us out we went to Nikolaj's place.

Almost everyone were smiling and happy...

We had cheap beer and listened to great music. As always I managed to squeeze in some Swedish tunes.

I did say almost everyone...

Some were looking fabulous as always...

We played silly games, and I was Donna Martin for a while. There's a first time for everything, I guess...

Good laughs...

The night was fun. Somehow it seemed very long though. But then again, we did start the party at 17:00, so maybe that's why.

Happy blog-aversary!

This is the 100th post on Aprilgatan, so it's time to say Happy Blog-aversary! Let's celebrate with some lovely sailor-cupcakes...

The Swedes would say: Grattis!
