Way Out West

I'm back from Göteborg, Kulturkalaset and Way Out West now. But the truth is I'd much rather still be hanging around the streets of Gbg. I can't stop loving that city.
Eva and I arrived Tuesday afternoon and went straight out for some shopping och fika. In the evening we went to see Timo at Göta Platsen. Han var grym som alltid.

The next day we went to hang out by the harbor... It's just so pretty there with all the boats and cranes.

The sun was shining while the rain came down, so a beautiful rainbow appeared over Vasastan...

The girls arrived Thursday afternoon at Centralen, and in the evening we had great sushi.

We visited Styrbord Barbord for drinks, and then ran through the rain to Jazzhuset and Almedal.

Finally came the first day of music at Slottsskogen.

This is true, you know...

We saw Jens Lekman (med alldeles för mycket bas och dålig ljud!), Paul Weller, Beach House, TSOOL, Miike Snow, Iggy, LCD Soundsystem and The XX.

And after midnight Eva and I went to see Hurricane Gilbert at Henriksberg. And so did a lot of other people. Apparently the place was full, and after waiting, waiting and seeing people give up and leave the queue we almost lost hope of getting to see him. But then the kindest doorman decided to let in the two of us... I almost hugged him out of happiness. Hurricane var grym som fan!

Saturday we went to see The Drums and a bit of Shout Out Louds, and of course the lovely Mumford & Sons. They were awesome, but I would like an explanation of why they didn't play
Winter Winds, which is my favourite song. Besvikelse!

We listened to Anna Ternheim, who surprised everyone by bringing sweetest Henrik Berggren with her. And then came the moment we had been waiting for: Håkan's 10 year anniversary gig. What a party! He and the band even wore their old sailor costumes for old times' sake (för gamla tiders skull).

After Lykke Li, La Roux and Chemical Brothers our legs couldn't bear the thought of standing in line for any more concerts på klubbarna, so we decided to have a drink or two at Hemma Hos. That bar is the best. We stayed there till closing time and chatted to the sweet ladies behind the bar. Then we moved along to good old Sticky Fingers for some dancing and meeting funny Swedes. Vilken kväll det blev!

We were all extremely tired yesterday, so we hung out on the quay watching the boats go by.

We even met Mr. Evert Taube, and I couldn't resist kissing his sweet little cheek.

I miss Gbg like crazy already ♥
